Mark Davidi
Mark Davidi’s journey into dance music began in the early ’90s, inspired by Pete Tong’s Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1 and compilation albums like The Best of Dance 91. Tracks by Rozalla, The Shamen, Crystal Waters, The Prodigy, Oceanic, 808 State, and 2 Unlimited shaped his early taste and drew him into the world of electronic music.
Since then, he’s explored a wide spectrum of house and club sounds—from deep, jazzy, gospel, and funky house to more driving styles like tech house, progressive, and Ibiza trance. Albums by Moby, particularly Everything Is Wrong and Ambient, also left a lasting impression and deepened his interest in electronic music’s more atmospheric side.
He began DJing in 1996, starting out with a basic setup before upgrading to Technics 1210s. A pivotal moment came at Tribal Gathering in 1997, where he saw acts like Daft Punk, Kraftwerk, Pete Tong, Paul Oakenfold, and Faithless. That experience sparked a love of live events and festivals, leading him to attend Creamfields, Homelands, and the Leeds Love Parade.
He spent his club nights at venues like Passion at The Emporium in Coalville, Sankeys Soap, and Electric Chair in Manchester. Over the years, he’s played at various bars and clubs across the UK and abroad promoting events at Leicester venues such as The Lizard Lounge and Sumo.
Influenced by DJs like Paul Oakenfold, Darren Emerson, Mr C, Pat Lezizmo, and Lars Behrenroth, Mark’s style reflects a long-standing connection to the many forms of house and electronic music. His project Davidi Vinyl Mix features curated mixes and original tracks, created for people who share the same love for the dancefloor.
